One HUGE Trick To Being Less Hungry. This Works ALL The Time.
One HUGE Trick To Being Less Hungry. This Works ALL The Time.
A lot of medical and nutritional research is focused on reducing signals of hunger, so that people will eat less.
Personally, I don’t think that the best way to get healthy or lose weight is to simply eat less. If you’re still eating junk, then it how much you eat is of secondary concern.
However, I have always liked the idea of being less hungry.
Protein + Breakfast = Happy + Full
Here is a recent article from Science Daily:
Protein-Rich Breakfast Helps Curb Appetite Throughout the Morning
The research that this article was based on showed that eating more protein at breakfast significantly reduced hunger throughout the day. In other words, eating pancakes left you hungrier for the rest of the day than did a breakfast that included between 30-40 grams of protein.
On one hand, didn’t we know this already?
We’ve all eaten junk food that’s full of sugar for a meal before, and we all know what happens. We get very tired, and then in 30 minutes to an hour, we’re hungry again.
On the other hand, this is something that we forget quite often.
Tim Ferriss, in his book The 4-Hour Body, recounts how his own father lost a significant amount of weight after following Tim’s advice to eat 30 grams of protein within 30 minutes of waking up.
Based on my own experience and that of many successful dieters, whenever anyone asks me what to eat for breakfast, I certainly recommend real food above all else, but my second suggestion is always to make sure that you’re getting a fair amount of protein.
Eat Protein and Be Merry
Eat protein at breakfast. As simple as it sounds, it makes a lot of difference for how you feel during the rest of your day.
