Chinese Bamboo Salad Recipe [Paleo, AIP, Keto]

Louise | August 31

You’ll often find bamboo salad dishes at Chinese restaurants as a starter dish that’s served cold. And this Chinese bamboo salad recipe is very similar to those dishes. However, to make it more AIP-friendly, I’ve used olive oil instead of sesame oil and I’ve omitted the chili oil in this dish.

If you’re not on AIP and want to make this dish more traditional or if you just want to spice up this recipe, then try adding chili oil and sesame oil instead of the olive oil.

Paleo Mango Coconut Curried Chicken Salad Recipe

Louise | August 26

I’ve always loved curried chicken salads. There’s something about the flavor of curry powder that just goes so well with chicken. But it also needs a touch of sweetness, which the mangoes and blueberries in this recipe provides.

And for the crunch, I added in some pumpkin seeds and shredded coconut. The slight crunch that the pumpkin seeds add is really necessary!

The creaminess to this chicken salad recipe is simply from coconut cream. It goes so well with the curry flavor!

How do you eat this curried chicken salad? Personally, I found it went really well with some butternut squash that I roasted in the oven (butternut squash and curry powder go well together!). But you can also just eat this with a green salad or by itself.

For another version of a more traditional curried chicken salad recipe, check out this recipe made with Paleo mayo, cashews, raisins, and celery.

15-Minute Tamari Marinated Steak Salad Recipe [Paleo, Keto]

Louise | August 22

A good steak salad can be delicious! This super quick and easy steak salad recipe was inspired by a dish I found at a local cafe. I loved the crunchy vegetables in the salad as well as the flavorful steak meat that had been marinated in soy sauce.

As many of you know, I love fast and easy recipes, and grilling or pan-frying steak is super fast so this steak salad recipe takes hardly any time to put together. I went for some nice and crunchy vegetables like peppers and radishes, but you can use whatever veggies you have at home.

Lemon Black Pepper Tuna Salad Recipe [Keto, Paleo, AIP]

Louise | August 15

We love getting more seafood into our diet, and adding in tuna is a super easy way since it’s so readily available in cans. This tuna salad recipe is Paleo and Ketogenic (as well as low carb). It’s also AIP-friendly (follow the instructions in the recipe for AIP substitutions).  (AIP stands for Paleo autoimmune protocol.)

This recipe is super easy to make – it takes under 10 minutes from start to eat. So, it’s great for lunch or dinner or as a quick snack.

Avocado Cucumber Ginger Salad Recipe [Paleo, Keto, AIP]

Louise | July 27

This is a super simple salad for summer. The cucumber and ginger make it really refreshing, and the avocado adds in some extra healthy fats.

This recipe can be a side dish or a quick snack. It takes 5-minutes to make, and you can use your leftover cucumber and avocado from making another dish (like this tuna salad recipe).

We find this recipe tastes better with sesame oil (and in case you’re wondering if sesame oil is Paleo, check out this article), but you can also use olive oil instead.

Mustard Sardines Salad Recipe [Paleo, Keto]

Louise | July 25

Continuing with our obsession with canned sardines, this recipe is another super easy and quick way to eat sardines! Treat it as an alternative to a tuna salad – you can pack these for lunch or spread them on top of some 5-minute Paleo bread for a quick sandwich or on top of some cucumber slices for a party snack.

If you’re unfamiliar with canned sardines, they’re cheap, easy to eat, and highly nutritious. Just remember to use sardines that are packed in olive oil (and not vegetable or seed oils), like these Wild Planet sardines.

Costco Duck Confit Salad

Louise | November 23

Jeremy and I recently visited France – it was an absolutely amazing trip filled with good food and even more excellent wine.

One of my favorite French dishes is duck confit, and it takes so long to make that I’ve never had the patience to make it myself (so I end up ordering it in restaurants whenever I see it on the menu). That’s why I got so excited when I saw ready-cooked duck confit being sold in Costco!

It was so easy to grill it at home and serve it on a bed of greens. If you spot it in Costco, I highly recommend getting it for an easy and delicious quick meal.

Paleo Curried Chicken Salad Recipe

Louise | February 23

I really love chicken salad recipes, but my favorite are Paleo curried chicken salad recipes. Maybe I just have a soft spot for anything curry flavored.

Truth be told, I’ve been wanting to make this recipe for a really long time, but I kept putting it off because I didn’t want to the trouble of making Paleo mayo (it’s not that difficult, but it’s also not that easy).

So, when I heard about Primal Kitchen Mayo (ready-made Paleo mayo in a jar that’s created primarily with avocado oil – made by Primal Kitchen), I knew that the first recipe I was going to make would be this curried chicken salad! If you haven’t tried Primal Kitchen Mayo yet, it’s definitely a much easier way to go than creating mayo from scratch every time.

Paleo Steak Salad with Coconut Pan-Fried Peaches

Louise | January 15

Why I Used To Hate Steak

I used to hate steak. At first, it was just because I didn’t like things that had blood coming out, and then once I got over that hump, it was because I was too scared to cook steak. Steak is often expensive, and I was terrified that I would ruin it.

Finally, I decided to take a chance and try cooking steak (using the pan-frying method). It was easy!
Maybe my steaks don’t taste quite as juicy as Gordon Ramsay’s, but I still love it.

My Simple Way of Cooking Steak

My simple way of cooking steak is to salt it before hand, then heat a frying pan with lots of ghee in it. Then carefully put the steak in, cook it for 3 minutes on high heat, then flip it and cook it for another 3 minutes on high heat. Then I’ll gently feel the steak with a spatula to see how firm or soft it is. Usually, it’s about medium rare at this point, and I cook it for 1-2 minutes longer to get it to medium. After cooking, I rest the steak on a plate for 5 minutes (some of the blood and juices will flow out) and then serve it.

Note – this is for a thin steak (for a thicker steak, it’s much better to stick it into the oven for a few minutes on 450-500F after pan-frying it on high heat for 30-60 seconds on each side).

My Easy Paleo Steak Salad Recipe

There are plenty of ways of eating steak, but salads are always delicious (and I love how easy they are too). So, here’s my easy Paleo steak salad recipe with some peaches fried in coconut oil. (If you omit the ghee and cook with coconut oil, then it’s AIP compliant too.)

23 Delicious Paleo Salad Dressing Recipes

Louise | November 21

Salads are great, but without a good dressing, you’ve just got a pile of raw (well, occasionally cooked) veggies. I’m often appalled by what goes into those store-bought dressings, so I’ve made a habit out of making my own. Luckily several genius Paleo-friendly food bloggers have figured out how to turn those classic dressings like ranch and caesar into ones that we can all enjoy!

The following list also includes some delicious vinaigrettes and other types of dressings. Here are our favorite Paleo salad dressing recipes!
