Is Coconut Water Good For You?

Is Coconut Water Good For You?
Quick Answer: It has lots of benefits, but it’s not a miracle drink. And if you are looking to lower your blood sugar, then be aware that coconut water contains sugar naturally in it.
Coconut Water Can Hydrate You
One of the main reasons why coconut water is good for you is the fact that it hydrates you. I know there are lots of people who hate drinking plain water because it’s so bland. For those people, drinking coconut water is a great way of getting lots of water without too much sugar (unlike drinking fruit juices).
Coconut Water Has Lots of Minerals
Here’s an infographic of the minerals in coconut water. Please feel free to share!
As you can see from the nutritional data for coconut water, one cup (240ml) has the following amounts of minerals (percentages are for Daily Values):
Calcium 57.6mg 6%

But Don’t Drink Too Much!
Although coconut water is great tasting and kinda nutritious, you have to ask yourself, is coconut water good for you given your health and weight goals. If you’re trying to watch your weight or have blood sugar issues, then coconut water may not be that great for you (one cup of coconut water contains 6 grams of sugar).
