Eating Out Paleo: Olympic Provisions, Portland, Oregon
As we pulled up to the industrial looking building that houses Olympic Provisions (the Southeast location), it suddenly struck me that we had eaten here on our last trip to Portland a few years ago! Apparently, our unconscious navigated us here again to enjoy another delicious lunch. Last time, it was a beautiful day in the middle of summer, this time it was in the midst of a snow storm!
The Food
Their dinner menu is filled with some fantastic Paleo options ranging from Roasted Pork Shoulder and Collard Greens Soup to Braised Beef Short Ribs and Roasted Chicken, but even their lunch menu (shown below) offers a lot of choice.
In particular, they have an extensive selection of delicious charcuterie!
I opted for a pickled egg to start, and Jeremy ordered some pickled vegetables.
Then Jeremy and I both ordered the Choucroute Garnie (a large bowl filled with sauerkraut, kielbasa, bratwurst, frankfurter, ham, potatoes, and grain mustard). It was quite delicious and filling!
Our friend ordered the Seafod Paella.
Olympic Provisions is definitely a fantastic place to have a Paleo/Primal lunch, brunch, or dinner, and the warehouse space gives it a very modern, clean, and bright look.
