Paleo Soda Drinks – La Croix
I was one of those rare kids who didn’t like soda. The bubbles always made me burp, and I couldn’t ever manage to finish an entire can of coke.
That all changed when I got to law school. One of my best friends there was addicted to diet coke (even she called it an addiction).
I wasn’t drinking coffee during that period and needing caffeine to stay awake during law school, I also turned to diet coke.
I’m happy to say that I haven’t had a diet coke for years now, but on a hot summer day, it’s still the drink I crave!
Luckily, that same friend gave up diet coke as well and recently, she introduced me to a new soda, La Croix, which contains only Paleo ingredients!
What Are The Ingredients In La Croix?
This was my first question when I was handed a can of La Croix, and on the back of each can is printed the same ingredients list: carbonated water, natural flavor.
So, naturally, my next question was, what’s natural flavor?
Here’s what their website says about the natural flavor:
“The flavors are derived from the natural essence oils extracted from the named fruit used in each of our LaCroix flavors. There are no sugars or artificial ingredients contained in, nor added to, these extracted flavors.”
How Does La Croix Taste?
I’m drinking a can of the grapefruit La Croix as I write this post right now – that’s my favorite flavor. It’s very light and non-sugary, so if you’re expecting diet coke, then this is not it! It’s very mildly flavored carbonated water, so don’t expect your regular sodas.
However, I love the sparkling water feel in my mouth, and the flavors make it feel like I’m not just drinking sparkling water.
What Flavors Does La Croix Come In?
According to their website, La Croix currently comes in 9 flavors: Pure, Lime, Lemon, Pamplemouse (Grapefruit), Orange, Cran-Raspberry, Berry, Coconut and Peach Pear.
Where Can You Buy La Croix?
This is the best part! I’ve found these in Walmart, Target, and Whole Foods, and they’re available on Amazon here.
