Instructions

  1. Pour the tomatoes into a pan. Add a can of water, the oregano, and the star anise to the pan.
  2. Bring the mixture to a simmer over very low heat for 1 hour. Remove from heat and stir in vinegar.
  3. Remove the star anise. Season salt and pepper to taste. Allow to cool.
  4. Blend the mixture to a smooth sauce in a food processor or blender.
  5. Store in a sealed container in the fridge for no more than 4 days.
