Ingredients: banana, avocado, vegetable juice or water, leafy greens, Vital Proteins Collagen Peptides.

If you are a fan of green shakes and are following AIP, then this recipe is suitable for you. It does taste very green, so if you prefer a lighter flavor, cut down slightly on the kale and increase the amount of lettuce and banana. Green smoothies are a great way to wake up your system in the morning!

Creamy Coconut Avocado Smoothie

– Delicious Obsessions

Ingredients: avocado, coconut milk, coconut water, handful greens (spinach, lettuce, chard, etc.), parsley, gelatin, ice.

If you find green smoothies a bit grassy then you will enjoy this one! It is so smooth and rich because of the avocado and is packed with healthy fats. This smoothie also includes gelatin, which is really good for hair and nail strength and adds to the smoothness of this drink. You can adapt this recipe by adding fruit for added sweetness.

Green Smoothie Without Kale

– Confession of an Overworked Mom

Ingredients: banana, coconut milk, strawberries, fresh spinach.

Smoothies are a great way to increase your intake of vegetables and can be enjoyed by even the biggest veggie phones! The banana in this drink gives the lovely smooth consistency and adds natural sweetness. If you don’t like kale, you might find recipes like this more appealing as the spinach can be a bit more palatable.

Snack-Size Green Smoothie

– Detoxinista

Ingredients: banana, spinach, water, ice cubes.

When you use greens in a smoothie you are giving your whole system a boost by taking in plenty of vitamins, minerals, and fiber, and blending them makes them easier for the body to digest. Using banana as a base for this drink gives you a smooth and creamy smoothie that would be perfect for breakfast or as a snack between meals

Avocado Banana Smoothie

– Bravo For Paleo

Ingredients: avocado, banana, spinach, water.

With only three ingredients, this smoothie is quick and easy to prepare, making it a perfect drink to whizz up for breakfast or for a quick snack. It is designed to be very thick so you might want to use a spoon, or add a bit more water to make it easier to drink. You shouldn’t need to add any sweetener as the banana provides natural sugar.

Lime and Coconut Green Smoothie

– So Let’s Hang Out

Ingredients: lime juice, coconut milk, coconut water, banana, spinach, ice.

This smoothie has such a vibrant color! This is a twist on the classic spinach smoothie as you are adding lime which gives it a citrus kick and makes it so much more refreshing, and gives your body an injection of vitamin C. This would be perfect as a pick-me-up after a workout or as a healthy snack in the afternoon.

Peppermint Smoothie

– Pure and Simple Nourishment

Ingredients: bananas, fresh spinach, fresh mint leaves, full-fat coconut milk, peppermint extract.

When you read the ingredients list you can’t help but think how fresh the flavor of this smoothie would be, thanks to the mint. This is a green smoothie, but it is not too green, so would be a great introduction to vegetable smoothies. If you are following AIP, just omit the peppermint extract, but apart from that, this recipe is suitable for most diets.

Easy Morning Green Smoothie

– That Paleo Couple

Ingredients: cucumber, lemon, avocado, kale, water.

Just imagine sipping on this wonderful drink on a hot summer day! Using cucumber and lemon makes this one of the freshest-tasting green smoothies you can find, and the cucumber is good for hydration so this is perfect for warmer weather. If you are not sure about the kale, just add a little, to begin with till you get used to the flavor.

Ingredients: avocado, banana, coconut milk or water, greens of your choice (spinach, kale, chard), ice.

Green smoothies are packed with nutrients and fiber and can be very filling, keeping you going all morning, and this one definitely will. The consistency will be quite thick, but smooth and creamy as you are using avocado and banana as the base, but you can water it down by adding more coconut milk if you prefer.

– My Heart Beets

Ingredients: avocado, ripe banana, spinach, cardamom pods, almond milk.

This recipe not only looks and tastes great, it is also a fantastic way to use up bananas that are a bit too ripe – just put them in the freezer then you have a base for a smoothie whenever you want one. The cardamom adds a different slant on the flavor of the drink, but if you don’t like cardamom ‘bits’, you could use powdered cardamom instead of pods.

Shamrock Shakes

Healthy Shamrock Shake

– Health Starts in the Kitchen

Ingredients: banana, avocado, ice, coconut milk, baby spinach, organic vanilla extract, peppermint essential oil.

Shamrock shakes were first introduced in the ‘70s to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day and were originally flavored with lemon or lime. However, nowadays the flavor has been changed to mint, which is just as refreshing as citrus. This shake is perfect for sipping as a healthy snack, or you can add some protein powder to make it into a complete meal replacement.

Copycat Paleo Shamrock Shake

– Primally Inspired

Ingredients: coconut milk, avocado, raw honey, ice, pure vanilla extract, pure peppermint extract.

Original shamrock shakes were so unhealthy – packed with sugar and food coloring – so it’s good to know you can make your own healthy version! Because the avocado is full of healthy fats, it can really make this shake taste as though it is made with cream, but it is dairy-free. If you don’t have honey, you can use any other sweetener you can tolerate.

Shamrock Power Shake

– Satisfying Eats

Ingredients: milk of choice, Greek yogurt or avocado, strawberries, ice, virgin coconut oil, grass-fed gelatin, fresh spinach, vanilla extract, sweetener of choice.

Here is another example where the ice in the drink has been replaced with frozen fruit which is a great idea. You can also use frozen spinach here and it can be cheaper than fresh. Because this shake is smooth and creamy, it would be a great one to give children, getting them accustomed to taking in more greens in their diet.

Fruit and Nut Shakes

Strawberry and Cream Milkshake

– Comfort Bites

Ingredients: strawberries, banana, coconut milk, vanilla extract.

Summer just makes you think of strawberries and cream, so here is a wonderful dairy-free recipe to satisfy that need. This shake does not need any added sweetener as the banana and strawberries give it enough natural sweetness and the banana also gives the shake a smooth consistency. If you have some super-ripe bananas, just freeze them in batches to give the base for a great shake.

Ingredients: coconut milk, banana, strawberries, vanilla extract.

This smoothie is another dairy-free and deliciously sweet and creamy one that can be enjoyed anytime. It only has a few ingredients and takes a matter of minutes to prepare. If you prefer to use fresh fruit rather than frozen then you might want to add some ice. You could also add in some protein powder to make this smoothie into a meal replacement.

Strawberry Banana Mint Smoothie

– Paleo Flourish

Strawberry Banana Mint Smoothie Recipe [AIP, Paleo, Dairy-Free] #paleo #recipes #gluten-free https://paleoflourish.com/strawberry-banana-smoothie-recipe-aip-paleo
Ingredients: strawberries, banana, coconut oil, coconut milk, ice, mint tea leaves, honey or sweetener to taste (optional).

This recipe is much like other strawberry smoothie ones, but this one has a bit of a twist – mint tea leaves! They give a subtle mint flavor without over-powering the taste of the fruit and add a really delicious freshness. This smoothie would be the perfect one to have for breakfast or as a mid-afternoon snack. You might not need any added sweetener, depending on the natural sweetness of the banana and strawberries.

Blueberry Coconut Smoothie

– Frisky Lemon

Ingredients: coconut milk, wild blueberries, banana, coconut butter, raw spinach, cinnamon.

There is something really wonderful about fresh blueberries – from the rich color to the delicious juice and the fact that they are packed with anti-oxidants. This smoothie is perfect for kids too as the flavor of the spinach is masked by the blueberries, so they won’t even realize they are eating it! This recipe would also work with added ginger instead of the cinnamon.

Mixed Berry Breakfast Smoothie

– Savory Lotus

Ingredients: coconut milk or nut milk, dates, avocado, vanilla, banana.

This smoothie would be perfect to have if you need to boost your energy levels as it has dates in it and they are well-known for being a good source of energy and fiber, as well as various vitamins. They also add a richness to the flavor of the smoothie. This is another recipe that tastes so creamy and yet is completely dairy-free.

Ingredients: banana, blueberries, strawberries, spinach or collard greens, coconut milk.

If you are trying to get kids to eat more greens, fruity smoothies can be the answer as the flavor of the fruit hides the spinach taste! This smoothie would make a great breakfast drink as it is fresh and tasty and the natural sugars from the fruit can give you the energy you need. If your family like smoothies every day, it is a good idea to put all the fruit and vegetables, pre-cut, into freezer bags in individual portions and store in the freezer.

– Paleo Flourish

Blueberry Mint Smoothie Recipe [AIP, Paleo, Dairy-Free] #paleo #recipes #gluten-free https://paleoflourish.com/blueberry-mint-smoothie-recipe-aip-paleo
Ingredients: blueberries, coconut milk, mint tea leaves, avocado, ice.

This is a super-refreshing smoothie because of the hint of mint from the tea leaves, but you could use fresh mint leaves if you have them. The avocado gives this smoothie a creamy texture even though it is dairy-free, and the blueberries give the great color and flavor to this. Smoothies like this one are perfect for people who don’t eat breakfast as they are easy to prepare and to ingest.

Paleo Kiwi Banana Avocado Smoothie

– Paleo Flourish

Kiwi-Banana-Avocado-Smoothie
Ingredients: kiwis, bananas, avocado, spinach, coconut milk, hemp seeds (optional).

Kiwis are a fantastic source of vitamin C and have been proven to have anti-inflammatory properties, so this smoothie would be great for anyone with arthritis for example. The spinach is rich in anti-oxidants, so like many other green smoothies, this one is super healthy for you. The banana and avocado give this smoothie a rich and creamy texture which is complemented by the fresh zing of the kiwi.

– Paleo Flourish

Paleo After Workout Peach Banana Protein Shake Recipe #paleo #recipes #glutenfree https://paleoflourish.com/paleo-after-workout-protein-shake-recipe
Ingredients: peach, banana, avocado, coconut oil, coconut milk, protein powder (optional), almonds, brazil nuts, ice.

Peach is a lovely fruit to use in a smoothie or shake as it is sweet and slightly tart at the same time. The added nuts in this recipe mean that this shake is full of slow-release energy, giving you a real boost and keeping you going through the afternoon. If you are using this shake as a replacement for a meal, then you might want to add in the protein powder.

Ingredients: watermelon, ginger, lime juice, mint, sparkling water, coarse sea salt, lime slices.

Here is a great recipe that can be spiced up, turned into an impressive mocktail or true cocktail with the addition of some ‘grown-up’ ingredients! Imagine how refreshing a glass of this juice would be on a hot summer day, sitting in the garden and relaxing. If you have over-ripe watermelon needing to be used up you could even make it into the pulp and freeze in ice cube trays to water down later!

Coconut Lime Ice Smoothie

– Running to the Kitchen

Ingredients: coconut milk, mint, honey, ginger, lime, kefir, ice.

This smoothie has a real tropical taste and has a good hit of citrus from the lime, making it a really refreshing one. It has a kick from the ginger which is so good for keeping the gut healthy and is tangy because of the lime and kefir. This would also make a wonderful alcoholic treat if you added in some rum!

Chunky Monkey Breakfast Shake

– Primally Inspired

Ingredients: banana, full-fat coconut milk, fresh leafy greens, nut butter, collagen, cacao powder, pure vanilla extract, cinnamon, dates (optional sweetener).

This shake gives you all the goodness you would need to start the day off right! You can use whatever greens you like, but spinach and lettuce make a fresh addition to the shake. You get a really good chocolate flavor from this recipe and you have the benefit of the healthy fats from the nut butter.

Ingredients: milk of choice, pistachio, maple syrup or honey, ground cardamom, cinnamon, ground cloves, ground fennel, ground ginger.

This is an adaptable recipe as you can use any kind of milk you can tolerate, from full milk to nut and soy milk. It is a good idea to have a recipe for a shake that does not focus on fruit, and in this shake, the pistachio and cardamom go so well together. This is sweetly spiced and warming yet refreshing and you can add a contrast to the texture by sprinkling chopped nuts on the top.

Caramel, Chocolate, and Coffee Shakes

Salted Caramel Thickshake

– Irena Macri

Ingredients: almond or coconut milk, cashew butter, banana, Medjool dates, maple syrup, sea salt, ice cubes.

This shake adds a whole new dimension to shakes! It is thick and rich and gets its caramel flavor from dates, which are a great source of energy, so this one would be ideal after a workout to give your system a bit of a boost. It would be a good idea to taste the shake before adding the maple syrup as you might find you don’t need the added sweetness.
