Study Reveals Significant Fat Loss From One Change
Treadmill desks have been all the rage lately, although I sadly still don’t have one.
This, however, is the first big study I’ve seen on the matter:
Treadmill desks: A 1-year prospective trial
This study actually examined 36 individuals (a small sample size) over the course of a year after getting a treadmill desk to see the results.
Treadmill Desks = Fat Loss
The results weren’t amazing, but they were significant. As you’d expect, the amount of time that these people were sedentary dramatically decreased.
In addition, on average, individuals lost about 4 pounds over the course of a year. That may not sound like anything to write home about, but it’s a pretty good intervention, especially since those people didn’t lose it quickly and then regain it.
The study didn’t really measure any other health markers, so it’s hard to fully gauge the results, but it’s a good start for research into treadmill desks, and it’s potentially something you can take to your boss when you demand your first treadmill desk.
And if you’re looking to get a treadmill desk for your home or work, then check out this one on Amazon.
