Paleo Lemon Poppy Seed Loaf Recipe

Louise | June 7

Bursting with real lemon flavor, this Paleo Lemon Poppy Seed Loaf Recipe has become one of my new favorite dessert recipes.

And with the weather starting to warm up, it is the perfect light dessert for a warm summer day. But it’s also delicious any time of the year!

When I created this recipe, my goal was to use ingredients that are easy-to-find in stores or online, and I am so happy that I succeeded. And since I used one flour, it’ll be easier on your wallet instead of buying 2 different Paleo flours.

So, grab some lemons, almond flour and a few other easy-to-find Paleo ingredients and make one of the easiest loaf cakes you’ll ever bake.

35 Paleo Cabbage Recipes Your Grandma Would Be Proud Of

Louise | February 24

Cabbage is one of the trendiest veggies these days, and looking at these recipes you will soon understand why!

Besides being Paleo-friendly, cabbage is also easy on your wallet, simple to cook, and more versatile than you probably even realized.

Traditional Or Spiced Up?

One of the most common ways to cook cabbage is to chop it up and throw it in the frying pan. It’s also one of the tastiest; if you don’t believe me then why don’t you try one of the fried cabbage recipes below.

Add bacon for a traditional approach, or try something a bit more exotic, like curried cabbage! If you’d rather have lemony or smoky flavors, no problem. This list of Paleo cabbage recipes covers those, as well.

Cabbage Is Perfect For Stews

I love uncooked cabbage; it’s fresh and crispy, which is why coleslaw makes such a perfect Paleo side dish.

However, if you’d prefer a cabbage stew, we’ve got something for everyone. Have you tried cabbage stew with apples, pork or beet?

What surprised me was how well cabbage pairs up with seafood. If you like fish, for example salmon or tilapia, you’re in for a tasty treat.

Or do what people have been doing for centuries; make sauerkraut!

This Is Why You Should Eat Fermented Foods

Initially people used fermentation to preserve foods, and enhance the flavor. Later on scientist have found that the microorganisms – the bacteria in the fermented foods have many health benefits.

For example:

  • they can help lower your blood pressure
  • they have anti-microbial effects and can improve your gut health
  • they are anti-inflammatory and anti-diabetic

If sauerkraut isn’t your thing, you’ll be happy to find out you can make incredible cabbage rolls that are completely Paleo. And in case you’re feeling lazy, we’ve included some crazy-easy, deconstructed cabbage rolls recipes!

We’ve Cracked The Code – 39 Yummiest Paleo Walnut Recipes!

Louise | November 12

Is it just me, or is the Waldorf salad the first thing that comes to your mind, as well, when you think of walnuts?

Everyone seems to have an opinion about this traditional salad that was created in 1896, but not many people know that the original recipe didn’t contain walnuts – or any kind of nuts, for that matter. Good thing someone decided to add them since they are very beneficial to your health!

Did you know all this about walnuts?
– They are rich in high-quality antioxidants – more so than any other common nut, to be exact.
– Walnuts contain plenty of Omega-3’s, that can help reduce the risk of heart disease.
This study shows that walnuts can help you resist unhealthy food cravings. This means walnut could boost your weight loss. (They are calorie-dense, though, so pay attention to your daily consumption.)
– Adding walnuts to your diet may help you improve your memory.
– Walnuts are high in fiber, which can help your digestion.

Below you’ll find mouthwatering Paleo walnut recipes, including Paleo-friendly versions of the Waldorf salad – but also hearty main dishes! Stuffed pork chops or a walnut crusted steak will take care of even the hungriest of tummies.

However, the side dish recipes presented here are so tasty, you may forget about your entree.

But who am I kidding? The dessert section is obviously my favorite here! Crunchy walnuts make the perfect ingredient for desserts, and you can bet your bottom dollar people won’t even realize these are Paleo.

Some of the desserts would also make awesome, grab-and-run breakfasts on those mornings when you barely have time to get a cup of coffee. I’m crazy about the banana nut muffins and I’m pretty sure I’m not the only one!

Paleo Chocolate Mug Cake Recipe

Louise | July 2

I love mug cakes because they are quick and easy to make. Plus, they are the perfect size. Rather than taking the time and dirtying a bunch of dishes making a full size cake that you’re tempted to eat way too much of, you can have a perfectly portioned cake in under ten minutes. There are hundreds of mug cake recipes out there but today, I would like to introduce you to a special one, our CoBionic Paleo chocolate mug cake. What makes this cake special isn’t that it’s grain free or that it’s packs a serious chocolate punch thanks to unsweetened cacao powder. What makes it special is the addition of CoBionic Indulgence, a collagen supplement with a delicious chocolate flavor. The collagen really takes this cake over the top from good to great!

36 Paleo Junk Food Alternatives (No Guilt Involved)

Louise | May 30

When that infamous craving for junk food hits you it can be a struggle to stay strong and stick with your healthier way of living. But what if there was a Paleo alternative for your old junk food favorite?

It’s completely ok to give in and indulge when it comes to these recipes! They look and taste just as good (or probably even better), and there’s no need to feel guilty for eating them.

For those of us who love that crispy crunch, I’ve included a whole section of paleo-friendly chips recipes. Everything from kale chips to pork rinds, to tortilla chips – which, by the way, taste amazing with your favorite dip.

If you’re looking for a little bit more than just a snack, try the chicken wings or Mexican tacos. I promise even your teenagers won’t realize this fast food is actually healthy…

Your sweet tooth can be tamed with some butter cookies, chocolate truffles, or tropical gummies. If it’s a hot day, you’ll be glad to know there are a couple of ice cream recipes on the list, too!

To make sure you’ll always steer away from the unhealthy options, here are my tips for making Paleo junk food alternatives:

  • Make some of these recipes ahead and store for those moments when the cravings attack you.
  • Even though these are made with healthy ingredients, try to practice portion control. We all know how easy it is to overeat ice cream!
  • Choose the ingredients wisely (for example, make sure your chocolate is at least 85%).
  • Try not to eat “junk food” every single day. Even the healthy options can become a bad habit if you consume them all the time.

Paleo Chocolate Coconut Macaroons Recipe

Louise | April 30

I do a lot of grain-free baking. I also do a lot of cooking and baking for friends with allergies and other dietary restrictions. It can be challenging but I have one simple trick to make it all a little easier on myself. I always look for a recipe that needs as little modification as possible. For example, if I am cooking for a vegetarian friend, I choose a recipe that has no meat instead of one that needs a substitute. This not only makes the process a lot more straightforward, but it also means that I can stick to whole foods as much as possible and I don’t have to rely on highly processed ingredient replacements. These Paleo chocolate coconut macaroons are a great example of that principle. Coconut macaroons are naturally flourless, which makes them a perfect candidate for a Paleo makeover.

Paleo Chocolate Cups

Louise | March 21

Some days, you just need to eat some chocolate. Don’t worry, I’m not judging! The next time your chocolate craving hits, reach for these Paleo chocolate cups and indulge without overloading on sugar and artificial flavors. These chocolate cups are made using an easy two-step process. First the coconut filling is made by combining coconut butter with coconut oil and coconut sugar. Then, the filling is chilled until solid, so it can be coated in chocolate. If this seems like a lot of steps between you and chocolate, don’t worry, there’s only ten minutes of hands on prep work. Most of the time is spent chilling so it’s easy to whip up the filling, and leave it to chill while you do the laundry or go to the food store.
